As part of the workstream on ecomodding, the Gamelab is working on a small-scale set of custom Magic: The Gathering cards focusing on real-world sustainable innovations.

MtG constitutes a multiverse bringing together different worlds and mythologies. In recent years, the game has arguably developed into an analogue ‘metaverse’ combining franchises like D&D, Warhammer and, most recently, The Lord of the Rings.

Through a custom set, the power of the franchise and its gameplay system can be harnessed to stimulate debate about real-world climate threats and initiatives.
